OVERVIEW

Connect Quest is an online student toolkit and school campaign designed to spark curiosity, strengthen connections, and build community. Connect Quest was created in partnership with students, and aims to provide simple and creative ways to learn about substance use health and balanced device use, and help students make healthy choices, and feel connected. Uses a fun “choose your own adventure” approach, it offers flexible activities that can be used in two main ways:

  • Individual exploration: Students can work through the activities independently to reflect, learn, and grow.
  • Group leadership: Student leaders or groups can choose and lead activities within their school, including organizing a campaign, or “Connect Quest Challenge,” to share positive messages and promote connection more broadly.

This Support Guide provides:

  • Introduction and Background to the Connect Quest program,
  • Implementation tips to help school staff and students bring Connect Quest to life in their school communities, and
  • Information for Parents and Caregivers about how to build connection at home.

Ontario students are facing growing challenges with substance use, device use, and overall well-being, affecting their mental health, relationships, and sense of belonging.

School staff need resources that help students build skills to navigate these pressures, make healthier choices, and strengthen connections with themselves, peers, and their community.

That’s where Connect Quest comes in.
